| Hanson Building Products Ltd. (Britain's second largest clay brick manufacturer) have recently taken delivery of a Nu-Star extra high
torque Power Pusher® at their site in Elland, Halifax.
The Power Pusher is used to push the brick kiln cars on site, which typically weigh about 12,000Kgs.

| Dale Humphrey (Hanson's Works Manager) commented, "We have space restrictions around the plant and kiln areas and using the old
capstan and rope haulage system, with blind spots is not acceptable. The Nu-Star Power Pusher gives the operative more control and
helps towards a safer environment."
Steve Mather (Nu-Star's Technical Director) explained, "Generally we have found an increase in the size and weight of the loads we are
being asked to move. After several months development with our suppliers, we have recently increased the starting torque available in
the Power Pusher by about 20% to ensure we keep up with the requirements of our customers. "
Still just 1.4m long and 670mm wide, the Nu-Star Power Pusher
is best described as a multi-purpose tractor unit with a wide
range of attachments that enable it to push, pull and manoeuvre
heavy rolling loads in many industrial applications.
Utilising modern, sealed gel batteries and fitted with a matching on-board charging system, the Power Pusher is completely self-contained with no trailing wires or air-lines. Being pedestrian operated, there is no requirement for operators to have a driving licence and minimal running costs make it significantly cheaper than the costs associated with a forklift. |
