It is specially designed for moving (pushing, pulling & manoeuvring) dolly or trolley mounted loads fitted with four swivel castors. These can be notoriously difficult to control as they tend to 'crab', particularly where the flooring surface is uneven. The areas of operation can be many and varied, including general storage and warehousing operations, goods receiving and stock movements for retail shops, stores and supermarkets, together with parts and equipment transfers in industry and other engineering locations such as machine shops..

The PowerTug is pedestrian operated with a powered drive mechanism. It assists in compliance with Health and Safety regulations, helping to reduce manual handling accidents which can lead to lost or damaged stock as well as workforce sickness and absence. The unit is highly manoeuvrable and the compact size is ideal for use in confined areas. It is fully self contained, without trailing wires or airlines, and can be recharged from a 240V or 110V source. Unlike a forklift truck, the unit is not classified as a lifting device and can be operated by 18 year olds without the need for specialist training or certification.

Once driven up to the load, an electrically operated attachment connects securely onto the dolly or trolley and enables safe movement of the load. A unique telescopic boom counteracts the swivel effect of front castors when in motion, and the unit is equally effective when operating with a mixture of fixed and swivel castors.
